2019 RADICAL CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP - SEASON REVIEW

Monday 25th November 2019

2019’s racing season saw Jac competing in the UK’s fastest single-make sportscar series, the Radical Challenge Championship.

Under controlled ‘spec racer’ regulations, including factory sealed engines, the Challenge was viewed as the perfect championship for the experienced national racer to go to the next level with true downforce and the SR3X race car setting lap times faster than BTCC & GT4 cars.

The Challenge format was a mix of two 50 minute ‘endurance’ races over the two day weekend with a 20 minute sprint race sandwiched in between.

The hotly contested season saw the two returning racers from 2018, Dominik Jackson and Jerome De Sadeleer spearhead the standings with Jac and his Hart Race Team chasing hard in third place going into the last weekend. All three racers remained in contention for the title as they headed to Donington for the final meeting which turned out to be a rollercoaster of emotions for all three.

Whilst Jackson had a difficult race meeting he did enough to retain his title with the hard charging De Sadeleer claiming second. Whilst Jac was to demonstrate the pace that had been found over the season, winning two of the three races of the weekend, it was be a creditable third spot for Jac in the Championship.

Jac Constable, Fix Auto with Hart GT  “We had low expectations at the beginning of the season as we worked tirelessly in our attempts to learn what was a completely new car for us, but we were soon closing the gap on the fastest cars and racers. The fact that we had a chance to win the Championship going into the last meeting demonstrated the effort put in by all of the Hart Race Team… but the racing Gods determined it was to be a third place in the Championship for us. Thanks to everyone that helped and supported us throughout this exciting season’.
